Last week leaving Zone R on sunday evening wasn't an issue (though I had two laptops in my bag).

At Malpensa no such requirement.

Will report back on MXP tomorrow if anything has changed. They are doing this very rigorously at WAW at the moment which causes chaos as the airport layout is like CDG - i.e. checks at the gate which means that people turn up to the gate with 15 mins to go and then wonder why the queue is huge..
