Thumbs down New 346 J seat frequently fails to function

I have had four segments on Thai's new 346 and on 3 of the four sectors some element of the J seat has malfunctioned. Mostly it has been the AVOD but on my last trip the seat did not recline one bit. It's good that other seats were available. Its good to know that an avenue exists for some sort of recompense for malfunctioning seats. So it should too.

What I find strange is that a new plane has dysfunctioning product be it in j, f or coach. Surely, a new product that is well tested should not breakdown so readily. After all Thai has not exactly led the way with its premium product so the claim that the product is new and faults are to be expected is a cop out.

I think the $400 or $500 AUD premium SIA charges for their J product is easily justified on the basis of a more consistent, better sorted J product. Also I must admit to being a big 747 fan. Cannot wait for the AB 380.

I hope Thai get their product sorted as I have flown with them most, on my 20 plus trips to BKK and the frequency of my travel to the Kingdom is only increasing. I am rather disappointed that the new premium product we all eagerly waited for has been befouled by seats that obstinately refuses to function.
