The problem with a particular flight showing the upgrade available on less than a "Y" fare at time of purchase but still showing "On Request" when you check your itinerary is not just a recent event. This has happened to me several times over the last year or so. I can usually get someone at customer service to intervene and fix it at the real "6 day" window but on one occasion they did make me wait until the next day. However the advice of not waiting too long is correct as the first time it happended I just figured it would fix itself as the CSR assured me. In that instance I did not get an advance upgrade and lost in the lottery as well. My flight from MCO on Feb 7th leaves at 10.39am, the upgrade had cleared when I checked at 10:45am today (so the 6 day rule still appears to be in effect).
