Well I did my bit yesterday to reduce wastage by having dessert AND cheese The menus in NCW now conspicuously have no 'or' inserted where it used to be ^ I told the (otherwise lovely) crew memeber I'd like both, to which she replied "Sorry, sir, it's meant to be one or the other and we're full today..." (about 7 empty seats IIRC on the 777). I pointed out I thought this policy had now changed and indeed it didn't say "or" on the menu, but that I'd have the dessert and if there was any cheese left over I'd appreciate it. There was, and she brought it back to me at the end of serving the rest of the cabin ^ So I got what I wanted...but (a) felt like a fat pig (which I am ) for asking for "Please, madam, can I have some more?", (b) felt like I was being naughty for asking for something out of the ordinary (which I wasn't - this was a paid ticket, not an OpUp)

On the plus side, I also helped reduce the excess weight for the return leg, relieving BA as I did of my free bottle of Gordon's thanks to the vouchers from last year I seem to have another copy of the return leg too

Phil
