I was watching a decent show on A&E Biography about the Hilton family/business. The best part was the 30 minutes or so spent on Conrad and how he started the business. The rest was spent on the attention that Paris and her family gets.

But they mentioned that at one point Conrad bought the Plaza hotel in NY. How long was it in the chain and during what years? I know Trump bought it in 1988 (and then sold it for an $80 Million loss 7 years later during his darker days). I don't know the history of it prior to that. Did Hilton own the Plaza and Waldorf (purchased in 1962, if I recall) during the same time period?
