I called AVIS UK and booked a car for Toronto. Got lowest class for £50 for the 48 hours I was to have the car. I had upgrade vouchers and presented these so got a Chevy Impala (nice drive).

Returned it to the airport and they did the walkaround, checked the tank and everything was fine. Got the cleared slip so took off to check in terminal.

Today I get A bill for an additional CDN $28.97
Time and Distance: 86.03
Combination of charges: 12.57
Refuelling Charge: 12.00
GST 6.95
Tyre Tax 1.20
Sales tax on taxable 7.99

Total charges: 126.74
Voucher prepayment -97.77
Total deduction 28.97

It says: No remittance required. The amount shown above has been processed to your credit card account.

So what's that all about?

I called AVIS UK who could not give me an answer but would contact the rental office and get back to me.

If anyone here has a clue, please let me know.
