I was on a DEN-SNA flight last night and the captain notified the plane that we had 2 men from the Army that were on their way home from IRAQ after a 1-year stint. The entire plane gave them a round of applause.

While getting off at SNA, I saw them coming from F. Not sure if this is standard protocol (letting military personnel sit in F) as I am pretty sure the US gov't did't pay for a F ticket. I am thinking the GA must have upgraded them at the gate....not sure if people trying to upgrade were denied or there were open seats in F but regardless I thought it was a classy move.

Sitting in F must have been a great experience for the two guys...they couldn't have been more than 21 yrs old. After de-planing I thanked them for their work and wished them well.
