I've stayed at this hotel and at the Schiphol Airport Hilton.

The one "in town" is better, although not really in a convenient location.

I actually prefer the location of the airport hotel as it's easy to get in to town on the train and cheap, and of course is close to the airport.

The AMS Hilton is a taxi ride from the airport and that's not cheap.
It's walkable in to the centre, but you'd have to like walking.
