It is true that we ask people to be checked in 30 min prior to scheduled dept... At the 30min cutoff if paxes are not ckin we restrict the flt and release all the seats... I know in Las Vegas they cut the checkin time at 45 min due to being at the D gates and from talking to the vegas agents they say its quite a hike down from the counter to the gates... the Sea Pdx, Sea Geg are 20 min with AS/QX...

The 30 min cutoff is to insure that we have an on time dept, this also allows us to gets all the bags from tsa screening to the plane along with our paxes.. we are suppose to have the door closed at 10 min but usally we don't due to wx, mx or other delays of sorts depending on where you may be at the time
