To the OP: Why does it matter, you have indicated that you have only recently flown your first transcon after much debate about which route to take and then beign unhappy with your First Class experience. Its clear you arent going aiming to be in F on a 762 so what does it matter about the contracts...they exist, as does 3 class service from UA, as do the travellers connecting to transpacific First flights...
