At MSY, they did not allow an ordinary fork (not pitchfork or even a large dinner fork, just an ordinary salad sized fork). They also didn't allow a nail clipper. They did allow it to be checked in.

They did allow an awl (what you use to poke a hole in a leather belt). I accidently put it in the bag. Awls, you see, are not among the list of prohibited items.

They forgot that good security looks for suspicious people and situations, not just a checklist of mostly harmless items. Good security also looks for explosives better.
