I'm trying to book tix for my parents from MAA to SFO and I see that the BA rates are Rs. 15K ( ~ $350) less than the SQ rates for the same dates in Economy. Wanted to know if SQ is really superior to BA in terms of comfort, seat pitch, reliability, food and service. Can anyone who has travelled in both compare the two? I haven't travelled in BA.

SQ operates 777/777 on MAA-SIN and SIN-SFO whereas BA operates 777/747 on MAA-LHR and LHR-SFO. On the return both operate 747/777 on SFO-LHR/LHR-MAA and SFO-SIN/SIN-MAA respectively.

Given a choice, what would make me feel that the extra $350 for SQ is worth it?
