I don't agree with you about the reliability of ipods. They are infamous for having problems - especially with the batteries. I do agree with you that applecare is a waste a money. Usually what you have to do is send it away and they will fix it and resend it back. I like Circuit City Care - same price and they are liberal with their warranty. They simply replace it on the spot - no sending it in.
