In October of 1990 my college buddy and I were on the over-night train from Berlin to Prague. When we crossed the Czech border we were woken up by the customs officials checking passports on the train. An officer yanked the door of our compartment open and demanded "PAPERS!"

Blearily, my buddy and I dug out our passports and held them out to the inspector. He looked down at the books in our hands, took one look at the words printed on the cover and said "Canada, bah!" and with a dismissive wave of his hand slammed the door and was gone. He didn't even look inside.

Guess Canada *is* pretty insignificant when you think about it
