Thanks for the tip, LAX. I've actually done this before owing to the long lines at terminal D. As for US, "sometimes" is definitely the key word in the latter part of your post. As a CP on US that regularly flies out of PHL, I have slowly watched the Elite lines disappear across the board at PHL over the past couple of years. In fact, even in the new A-West International Terminal, they don't (nor have they ever since the new facility opened) have a priority line even for Envoy passengers let alone Elite members traveling in coach.

As for terminal B & C, US rarely offers an elite line and the few times that it's actually been opened (the last time I saw it open was at least a year ago), the TSA people wouldn't even let anyone else in it because they said it was moving way slower than the regular line for some reason. In particular since PHL is US's main hub, I find it to be a poor showing at best that they don't have an Elite security line there.
