For me it was a mixture of Lufthansa and Pan Am.

Used to live in Berlin and thus always flew Pan Am. when they went belly up, the miles got transfered into delta and United, and lufthansa was allowed to fly to berlin again. Then UA and LH partnered up and bam, now I'm SEN and 1K......
