I wanted to ask UA FTers this question. Well, I guess we have a good idea why we continue to keep our business with UA. But I was wondering what was the reason for flying UA (when you flew UA for the first time)? and When was your first UA flight?

For me my first UA flight was back in June 2001 on a consolidator's fare to ICN from BOS via SFO. It was back in those days when UA had three class 767s flying transcon from BOS that had PTVs. June 2001 also marks beginning for my traveling. Before June 2001, I hadn't flown much for longest time... like four years (I moved to the US from Korea and before moving to Korea, our family always flew NWA when coming to US so I was used to Northworst standards ).

To see those PTVs on domestic flights, nice comfy E+ seats (yes, since the flight was light the chicken agent gave me E+ seat) I was quite impressed. Nevertheless, I wasn't a MP member during the flight, but signed up then. Had my flight miles credited, took a look at the elite program and saw the potential for reaching Premier based on my travel schedule (back then I was to go home (Korea) for summer and winter breaks = at least 25,000).

Since that flight, September 11th happend, and I found extremely low fares to LHR for like 200 bucks on UA, which made me 2P in no time!!! Hence, my addition for flying UA. . So, what are your stories?
