Not always. Those of us who were in AGR before there was a Select Plus status, never got extra coupons the year that Amtrak first introduced the Select Plus status.

And there are some who only qualify for Select in their first year, but make Select Plus in their second year, so they don't get double coupons. Plus I'm sure that there are some who qualify for Select early in the year, but only make Select Plus right at the end of the year. Again they wouldn't get double coupons.
