Legalbee - I would assume carriers obligations are the same. Some may voluntarily go further than others however.
I was in Cairo this year when a flight cancelled for mechanical reasons and was on a FF tix. I was flatly told that they had no obligation to do anything other than put me on their next flight out - 48 hours later! They rebooked all revenue passengers the same day but my wife and I had to wait 2 days to get out.
I hope your experience is better. I am afraid they can do whatever they want to in this scenario. I hope I am wrong.
