PTravel, I suggest you do a search within the Starwood forum for "New York." You will find dozens of threads that address your question, and provide lots of great detail that could factor into your decision.

My personal favorite is the W New York - The Court. You'll find many more specific views if you search "Court" within the SPG forum.
