They used a DC-9.. but there were storms in DFW and they might have had to wait to land. The decided prior to takeoff to refuel in STL. Lastly, there was a hydralic leak (which they said was going on for 3 days) that need to be fix prior to take off. They also were taking volunteers to take a bump to off set the weight of the flight.
