Agreed, at least from a game viewing perspective. The number of boats on the Chobe can however also get very large. Mornings are quieter than evenings, but the best is to get your own boat, preferably a small but fast speedboat. This will allow you to depart before the rest of the crowd, so you can enjoy some peace and quiet whilst the armada is still steaming up the river from the various hotel jetties. It will also give you the opportunity to continue beyond the point where 99% of the boats turn around and head back. With a bit of luck you will have the river to yourself.
