Rigby's sister Leslie, 37, said he was diagnosed as schizophrenic several years ago and recently stopped taking his meds.

"He called our mother yesterday and said he was going to commit suicide," she said. The sister said their uncle put Rigby on the plane against her wishes.

"I told him he needed psychiatric care first," she said.
