I flew a UA-operated, US-coded flight ORD-BOS last week. I flew as standby on the flight before the one I was booked on. Since I cleared the list only at 1 minute to scheduled departure time, the GA never issued me a boarding pass, nor took my boarding pass for the original flight. The only proof I have that I flew on the flight I did is a gate check bagtag with the number of the flight I actually took written on it by hand (and without my name, just with my '19F' seat number). Plus I have the BP generated by Mr Chicken at ORD for the original flight which does show I was at ORD on the relevant day.

Would you bother?
Yes, try!

It will keep you buzy for months!
