I dropped from Elite last year to Prestige this year (aka, nothing). This happened because I began flying YYZ-DCA instead of YYG/YHZ-YUL-SFO, so my segments and miles dropped pretty drastically.

Now I am flying YYZ-DCA-YYZ every few weeks and am considering going YYZ-YUL-DCA-YUL-YYZ and there is even an option for YYZ-YOW-YUL-DCA-YUL-YOW-YYZ.

How many of you have made a switch to a more-inconvenient routing just to boost miles/segments. What would you do in my case?
