I wish I lived in some of these areas that get all the specials
I know that some are getting low cost, high milage flights (or high segments), but many of us take the high cost, low milage flights where the only way we can get status is via segments, not miles.
I have flown 4 trips in the last two months to CLT from JAN. This is a 2 segment or 500 & 550 mile trip (each way), but this same ticket costs me $900 for Mon - Fri
This is 8400 miles or 16 segments for $3600. Not the 16 segments for $264 the earlier poster gets. Now I know many of you will tell me to do a mileage run, but with a new baby and already being out on the road 2 weeks out of the month. I best not do this (I like to sleep inside when I am home). Also, some of us are at smaller airports where flying anywhere is much more expensive.
