I hear what you are saying, but "practical" and "ridiculous" have no relevance in a forum such as this where chasing the ever elusive bargains for Q miles and status is number 1 reason, number 1 reason and number 1 reason for anything!
I have seen (and done) some truly absurd things over the years all in the name of miles and status.
Sydney to London for a weekend is fair game.
