Well I must admit to being rather underwhelmed after the 767 NCW experince. Admittedly its the same NCW seat, which I think is great, but it all seemed very crowded and cramped.
All in all, it's much like being on the 777, only narrower, 6 seats across instead of 8. But compared with a 777, the front cabin of the 767 seems very small and crowded.
1A (and 4K) are definitely private seats, loads of extra legroom. However the window seats are wedged right against the fuselage, and it does feel rather claustrophobic (and I'm not a big guy). You can't move your elbows at all - the fuselage is on one side, and the divider screen is on the other. I think it's ok for a short night time flight (such as this), but I'd hate to be crammed in a window seat for a lengthy flight.
The other problem of the window seats is that the ceiling is very low, as the fuselage curves above you. Meaning, you cannot stand up. Only, if you do at a very awkward angle. Getting in and out (even for little me) was not the easiest of tasks.
Also, because of the low celing and the divider, you can hardly be seen by the crew if you are hidden away in the window seat. And you have a job seeing them, as they pass too. Meaning, my juice glass was left on the shelf-thingey for take-off because they couldn't see it. If fact, I doubt the crew would be able to see what stuff was left on the floor area either. Also, as the crew were standing at 1J and 4B for the safety demo, you cannot see them if you are sat in the opposite window seats.
The luggage bins are another problem - they are the same old ones as on the short-haul 767s. So rollies only tend to fit in the flat ones - above AB and JK seats, and people were struggling to get their cases in.
The service was good - 3 crew doing a full J cabin. Drinks were done down the JK side, and then back up the AB side, meaning 1A was the last to get served. This was fine, as most the cabin was asleep on takeoff, or too engrossed in the Jewish Chronicle. Meals (I don't think many people ate) were brought out individually.
I do think that for these short eastward flights, it would be good to have a Sleeper Service. I would much prefer to eat in the lounge and then just get on and sleep or watch the movies with a glass of wine....or two. There were a number of eastward flights, all around 2200 - TLV, BEY, THR, KWI, ABV - which would be good for a Sleeper Service. And in the lounges after 2130, the staff aren't interested in much other than cleaning up, and getting off home.
I'm afraid I didn't take note of bassinet positions. There certainly weren't any in row 1, so I am assuming it's row 4.
All in all, I would rank this as less comfortable than the 777 J cabin, simply it seems very cramped to me, and a little "worn". The seats (presumably old NCW ones) have the signs of age - the lifejacket compartment hanging open, the storage area behind your legs wouldn't close properly, other scratches and marks. Personally on a route offering a choice, I would take the 777 anyday. As for the 767, I would definitely take an aisle seat.
