As for the upgrades, some have reported requesting, and being granted, upgrades more or less commensurate with the approximate miles left to a 10k node (e.g. if you have 36,000 miles on the "Miles Towards Gold / Platinum / Executive Platinum Upgrades" counter, you could request two upgrades,) which may or not be allowed; this is strictly up to the agent, and is not a published benefit or privilege.
