I almost always board with a Starbucks and haven't ever had a problem. I usually hold my coffee during takeoff, but I have had some flight attendants ask me to put it in the seatback - I've never had anyone take it away, and I've been doing this for years.

Don't tell me that they're thinking hot coffee could be used as a weapon???
