Firstly, welcome to FT. Your handle is something I had considered using myself

If they have any EK miles at all, using them to upgrade DXB-MAA-DXB would be the cheapest option.

Failing that, they would need a YYZ-LHR-DXB-LHR-YYZ ticket and separate DXB-MAA-DXB ticket

YYZ-MAA rtn in Y seems to be around $1,713.00 CAD including tax on EK/AC

YYZ-DXB rtn in Y is around $1,206.00 CAD including tax on BA or $1,313.00CAD on EK/ AC

DXB-MAA rtn in J is around $1,000.00 CAD inc tax on EK.

So overall, it would be ~$500.00 CAD more
