a quick gtip that helps me.

short stay (a few days)
keep your bioclock on home time. this means getting up at 2 am, and having meetings at 9pm (body time...)

long stay, keep yourself awake until bedtime the first night, this can involve being up 24 hrs +. but day 2 goes along nicely

and yes, it gets worse over the years, and im still young
