LaGuardia to Chicago upgrade to E+ = $63
As a new Mileage Plus member, tomorrow I'm taking my first United flight in 30 years. Most of my flying earlier was done in the old days, before the frequent flyer clubs started.
For my first segment, the online check-in showed an upgrade (I presume from Economy into Economy Plus) as being available. The cost for the upgrade one-way from LGA to ORD displayed as $63. By my reckoning, that works out to about $30 per hour of flight time. I declined the offer.
For my second segment on Ted out of ORD, the online check-in showed an upgrade being unavailable. I called United and was told that the flight operates as only one class of service.
So let me ask you experienced United hands: is $63 the going rate for E to E+ for the LGA-ORD run?
