Even in polite Old Europe I've seen airlines employees behaving assertively to the point of aggression so while I doubt we have the whole truth here, I don't find the story totally unbelievable. Ultimately, going through the proper channels, complaining to AF and, if necessary, getting hold of the services of a lawyer will do more to resolve this situation than complaining to the ever sceptical inhabitants of FT.
