Since this property has gotten so much bad press here, I thought I would mention a recent very positive experience...
Arrived at the Westin LAX at about 10pm after flying DUB-ORD-DFW-LAX and needless to say, more than a little tired. Gold/Plat check-in was open, but no one at the front desk, so I didn't bother walking the extra distance.
The guy says I don't have a reservation. Without pausing, he asks me if it could have been at the Sheraton and picks up the phone to call them. They don't have it either. I start to sweat. It looks like I didn't make a res and never double-checked. Thinking I was either totally out of luck or about to get hit with a HUGE rate, I got really worried - not to mention embarrassed for the oversight. Again, without skipping a beat, he said no problem, found my corporate rate and assigned me a room on 12.
Checked into a nice clean room for a good night's sleep.
With service like this, this property will definitely continue to get my business. Maybe they have heard the feedback and are really working to turn things around.
