On an MD80, I think the group 2/3 break is somewhere around Row 26. At least 26 was consistently in 3 before I was plat.

I'm pretty sure Group 6 is the priceline/hotwire fares, and not any row relationship.

But if you are travelling together and you have status, usually the gate agent will let them board with you, if you say you're together.
