SQ can and does sell F at the last minute. Also because the integrity of the cabin is protected as you put it, it commands a higher price for paid F than might otherwise be the case. SQ may well be better off with the higher revenue than by letting too many F seats go to awards.

Indeed this seems to be the case - SQ is one of the most profitable airlines in the world.
