Ever since I discovered the ANA Star Alliance Flight Awards search tool, I've stopped using the Aeroplan one. In fact, the ANA tool is quite addictive! It's sooooo easy to find SQ F availability (1 seat only) on US->Asia flights if you are flexible.

Also, the 1 F award seat only rule does not preclude SQ (or NH, which employs a similar rule) from releasing another F award seat at a later date. That happened to me on SIN-FRA whereby I secured both F award seats on SQ a month apart. We were the only two passengers in First Class (out of 12 seats). There is always hope

LH's F award seats are available in pairs. If you are travelling solo, the privacy of the single SQ F seats are preferable. But if you are travelling with a companion, I much prefer LH's all-F upper deck. LH's F is not too shabby either
