In almost every (okay, make that EVERY) case I have found that AA treats their EXP's VERY well. For starters, there aren't -that- many of us. I often ask the GA or the lead FA, "Just out of curiosity, how many EXP's are on this flight?". Yeah, I know, some routes have a lot of EXPs, but on the routes I fly I recall one time where there were 5 EXPs onboard. On the intl flights you'll have more, but still there just aren't a whole lot of EXPs.

I don't believe AA treats people differently depending upon whether they're a "high EXP" or a "low EXP". In AA's view I think they're all "high EXPs". Does that match other people's experience? Have you ever been trumped by a "higher EXP"?
