I find over the wing and behind on the 777 surprisingly noisy for a modern place. One reason why the A330/A340 family is just that little bit nicer. Not - of course - that you have a choice on AA.

The 747 is a bit louder in those areas, but of course you have the lovely Upper Deck and nose to choose from.
