You are correct the world.

But the AA and Ba sites are is poorly worded.

It should read "American Airlines AAdvantage and British Airways Executive Club members can earn and redeem miles, and earn tier status credit, on all eligible flights except those between the USA and Europe, with the specific exception of the codeshare flight from JFK (and ORD/Chicago?) to MAN/Manchester which can earn mileage and tier status credits on to the airline programe aligned to the purchased fare."

I would imagine they do not draw attention to this loophole for regulatory and competition reasons.

You can still earn/redeem miles on flights to Canada and Mexico and Caribbean in both the AA and BA programmes.

So try flying from Germany to Manchester and onward to JFK, and you might be in luck.
