Just dumped the Creative Webcam for Notebooks. I couldn't get it to work on Skype 2.0. I replaced it by the new model of the Logitech QuickCam For Notebooks Pro. Just got back from Hong Kong. Used this webcam there to connect on the hotel broadband for skype video calls with the office and the family at home. All using Logitech webcams. On all the calls I made I experienced good image quality and excellent sound (I handcarry a cheap & lowweight USB phone these days - easier than a headset).

NOTE: Logitech QuickCam For Notebooks Pro is way above your budget. But works great & very portable.
