Irrespective, rules is rules. The FA has no right to upgrade anybody. If they want to move them forward at the END of the flight to preserve their connection (and I have seen this happen plenty of times), then I have no problem with it. But no reason to do it for the whole flight at the expense of who-knows-how-many-passengers who are paying for their service and much more entitled.
