Thank you, this means I'm not going nuts
I"ll admit to being an old fart, but it looks like you had the same issue. So I guess I still have my marbles. I"ve sent an email off to the website. I'm hoping they'll either see the problem here or in my email to them.
Thanks

I was using "Search by Price/Schedule" when I got these fares that looked double what they should be. On a hunch, I switched "Search by Price" and they immediately dropped in half to normal.
And yes, I double checked that I had been searching for only ONE person.
I thought it was some weird holdover from searching yesterday for two award tickets to EZE for next October - first time I've used nwa.com to search for two tickets on the same itinerary.
Sounds like it's a bug. Maybe it's because the site set a cookie that my last search was for 2 passengers and didn't clear the old cookie. Or maybe it's a problem in the site's fare calculation. Either way, it's a nwa.com bug.
By the way, I saw a similar issue back in August searching for a domestic reward. It was showing 50,000 miles for a single Standard WSTD award DEN-SFO (definitely WSTD, no First, no Rulesbuster). I got into a long fruitless arguement with the Elite reservations line about why I should be able to book it for 25,000 since it was a Standard award, and without the telephone booking fee since it was a website bug. Finally I hung up and called nwa.com web support, and a very good agent there took ownership of the problem, went up the supervisory chain to get the booking fee waived, and got me the ticket.
It does look like nwa.com has a problem with doubling fares/miles required under certain circumstances.
