Thumbs down Normandie Hotel - San Juan - Puerto Rico

Needed a one night stay in San Juan as we were arriving late and did not want to make the 1.5 hour drive to Ponce in the middle of the night. Stayed at the Normandie Hotel which is next to the Hilton Caribe.

Let me preface these next statements by saying that we have stayed in San Juan many times at many different properties.

The Normandie Hotel has to be one of the worst, flea bag, run down hotels I have ever stayed at. Stains everywhere, it was like someone took this semi art deco hotel and had the folks from the redecorating show "Trading Spaces" come in. Everything about this hotel was cheap, dirty and crappy. Our $99 priceline bid that we won was WAY TOO MUCH $$$ TO PAY for this hotel.
