You really wouldn't be entitled to anything, since the alternative might have been a plane crash! I was once on a ORD-LAX flight that was diverted to Cedar City, UT due to a fuel leak. We were stuck there for five hours until UA could send a plane from Denver to pick us up. I received an apology letter in the mail from UA and that was it (I didn't ask for anything).
