We had this issue last year (or the year before - I can't remember) and UA's interpretation was 4,000 TOTAL in your example and the FT interpretation was 5,000. This is when Gene became involved and UA finally gave people the extra 1X if they wrote/called in to ask.
I am sure it will get ugly again this year. Trust me - NOBODY knows the real answer yet.
