It's absolutely okay and approved by the airlines.

Whoever you arrange travel for should, however, be prepared to tell the airline people at the airport how they happen to be flying on your miles.

I don't mean they have to "justify" the trip or explain their private business.

But they should know your name, where you live, and be able to answer the question, "What's your relationship to the person whose miles you're using?" (They don't have to be a relative. "Friend" or "co-worker" is fine.)

Just in case they're asked.

But what you've been doing is completely kosher.
