I personally pay it, because even though the cost of both of those might seem high, it's more than worth it to me.
I didn't mean deal with security in that you wouldn't have to deal with it at all. Theoretically, though, it was supposed to avoid most of the hassle that is air travel now, like shoe carnival, laptop carnival, etc.
