I have seen 14 of 14 available on an MD-88 but still no V availability. Revenue management is guessing....based on more data than we have. Some days they just screw up, like when Daytona 500 was one week later and they held back all seats on Monday morning. Gate lottery was easy, but it sure is nicer clearing in advance.

ONLY complaint I have with holding back so many seats is that they too often end up in hands of bumpees or irrops passengers, instead of medallions.

If they sell them, that is fine with me. Just don't give them away to others in advance of medallions.
